About Me

Welcome! My name is Barb Brunzell and I believe I was put on this earth to listen with compassion and non-judgment for the purpose of helping others. It’s what I do best.

Truly Yours is the culmination of a journey to my own authentic life and being open to my own true purpose.

My background is in Marketing and I have a BS from Rochester Institute of Technology. I worked for several years in various marketing capacities. Unfortunately, with each company and position, I felt unfulfilled and knew I wasn’t doing what I was meant to do.

I began the next chapter in my life when I got married and we started our family. As a stay at home mom for 14 years, I devoted my time to bringing up our three young children. I’ve volunteered many hours at the elementary and middle schools, striving to be involved in and enhance the school experience for my children.

As they grew and I gained more time, I began volunteering in suicide awareness and prevention. My oldest brother took his own life when he was a senior in high school and I wanted to do something to help others in despair. I participated in various walks to increase awareness and volunteered many hours on a suicide helpline. This was very rewarding and I learned a great deal about myself in the process.

To this day, I continue to be involved as a Survivor Outreach Program Volunteer with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.  I am also the Chapter Founder and Team Leader for LOSSteam MetroWest.  LOSSteam volunteers are called to the scene of actual suicides to provide immediate support and resources to those who have lost a loved one to suicide.

The most profound shift came when I encountered some very difficult life lessons, was faced with coming to terms with my brother’s death, then blindsided by the loss of my best childhood friend and her two sisters all within a 2 1/2 year span. It wasn’t until I turned my listening inward to deal with my own pain, that I was truly ready and open to seeing how I might help others.

When the time had finally come for me to pursue my personal goal of doing work that I love, I knew from all these experiences that I wanted to help people transform their lives. But how?

To better define what I wanted from my work, I attended a Motivation Factor® workshop where I not only gained a great deal of clarity personally, but I discovered a framework that would prove to be my foundation professionally.

I became a Certified Motivation Factor® Practitioner in December, 2012 to combine my experience with this practical framework. My goal is to help others achieve their own clarity about who they are and how they can move forward in a way that is authentic, energizing and transformational. Whether your challenge is with friends, family, relationships, or at work, I am here to help you get unstuck!

I hope you’ll join me in the journey.
